Making your own salad dressings is a great to keep flavour while keeping your dressing kidney friendly.

Homemade Salad Dressings

Yield per dressing: ¾ – 1 cup

Classic Ranch

  • Ingredients:
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise,
  • 2 Tbsp parsley, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp chives, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried dill weed
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder

Lemon Vinaigrette

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 2 large lemons; juiced
  • Approx. 1/3 cup juice
  • 1 tsp dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp honey or maple syrup
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced          
  • Pepper to taste

Asian Sesame

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 ½ tsp ginger powder
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions: Combine ingredients for desired dressing; mix well.
