Ajesh Abraham, Hemodialysis Nurse, Lakeshore General Hospital, Ashern, Manitoba
“I’ve been a nurse for one and a half years in Canada and since 2008 starting in India. I like it. I like being with the patients and to be someone who can really take care of them. I’m enjoying it. Culture is definitely a challenge. It’s a big transition. I was there [India] for 24 and a half years. It’s like a family. We see the patients three times a week for four hours, specifically being in a local centre. We’re family. Everyone knows each other.”
