These snacks are kidney-friendly (lower in potassium, sodium, and phosphorus).

Popcorn and a cucumber.

  • ½ cup veggies (cucumber, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, peppers, radishes) and dressing
  • ½ cup cooked vegetables
  • 1 cup lettuce salad & dressing
  • 1 cup salad kit in a bag
  • ½ cup coleslaw
  • 6 unsalted soda crackers with 2 tbsp peanut or almond butter
  • 1 medium sized apple or orange, ½ banana
  • ½ cup pineapple, grapes or melon
  • ½ cup mixed berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries)
  • ½ cup canned fruit or plastic fruit cup
  • 1 applesauce portion or other pureed fruit
  • 1 packet unsweetened instant oatmeal with ½ cup milk, cinnamon
  • ½ cup cottage cheese or 1 hard-boiled egg
  • 1-2 oz tuna on 6 lower sodium or unsalted crackers
  • 1 slice of whole wheat toast with almond or peanut butter
  • 2 rice cakes
  • 3 digestive or arrowroot cookies
  • 3 cups air-popped popcorn
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cold cereal and ½ cup milk
  • Celery sticks or apple wedges with peanut butter
  • Cut up vegetables with hummus
  • ½ sandwich (roast meat, egg, chicken, salmon, tuna peanut butter) on whole wheat bread, rye or white bread
  • 6 lower sodium or unsalted crackers with whipped cream cheese or hummus
  • Canned chick peas (drain, toss with oil & vinegar)
  • 2 ounces or 60 g of leftover cooked meat
  • Handful of unsalted nuts
  • ½ cup plain, unsweetened or lower sugar yogurt
  • Protein bar
